Technology has long been applied to the craft of publishing, initially in the back office beginning with punched cards, later with mainframe computers. Prepress processes have been transformed twice over in the last forty years. Rapid development of electronic delivery technologies leading to the Internet are bringing about additional transformations.
We welcome change. Our staff relishes the challenges of innovation while rooted in the unchanging fundamentals of publishing (including the great importance of author and reader) and the enduring value of intellectual property.
We support beginning companies with new ideas. We advise established publishers needing access to new in-house techniques or methods of distribution to expand their business. Occasionally, we perform remedial services the occasional client whose technology venture has jumped the rails. To sum up, we consult on:
- uses of the Web,
- in-house development and prepress technologies,
- back office applications such as accounting and fulfillment.
